It was barely a year and a half ago that I started my SparkYourMotivation Facebook fan page. It has really grown into something pretty major since then! I never, ever expected that the page would be approaching 20,000 fans. I was honored to reach my first 1,000, so this current number just blows me away! Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not focused wholly on the numbers. Nope. I love to interact with each of you, no matter how many of you there are. I love to hear how the things I share and post help motivate you to live your best life. I love positive chat and banter. I enjoy reaching out to so many and sharing what I find interesting, useful, helpful and intriguing. A little about me, since I've not yet fully introduced myself to all of you: My name is Chandra. I'm nearly 33, and married with 2 boys. We homeschool our eldest son and I hold down multiple part-time jobs. My husband is a musician/game developer/amateur chef & beer brewer/inventor/creator. I've been working to lose weight and get fit since February 2010. I've successfully lost 50lbs, gained 32lbs during my pregnancy and lost that weight again after my youngest son was born in February of this year. I am currently working toward getting to my goal weight/size, mainly by running, practicing yoga, and using Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper workout DVDs for strength training. I am assistant to Regina at Romancing Your Soul, as well as a part time legal assistant at a local law office. Add to that being a full time mom and homeschooler, well, you get the idea. BUSY! But, I love it. My favorite color is purple. I love to read (currently reading "The Return of Merlin" by Deepak Chopra). I enjoy helping others become and stay motivated in any area of their lives. I simply love to help! AND SO, that said... in honor of such GREAT numbers of amazing people gathered together to send, receive and recharge their Motivation, I want to give something away. To show my appreciation for all of you, and to help motivate you to take steps toward your goals, whatever they may be... I have a New Balance Via Base+ pedometer for one lucky SparkYourMotivation reader!! Here's a great article to read for tips on how to get the recommended 10,000 steps a day for health and fitness: http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/workout/cardio/walking/how-to-use-a-pedometer-to-get-10000-steps/?page=2 It's so easy to keep track of your daily steps/distance with a pedometer... enter below to win!!! I've just started running with a friend of mine. It' s the best anti depression therapy ever!!

It certainly is! I've been guilty of focusing too much on results lately, though, and forgetting to enjoy the run just for the joy of running. My next run, I have promised myself to just relish the run rather than watching the pace "clock". Best wishes on your running experience!

I found you on FB, and really love your posts. After reading your blog, I even more appreciate you words of encouragement. As a mom of similar age, I understand how hard it is to fit in time for yourself to workout. Great job, keep up the great work and thank you for the inspiration.

Thank you! It has been especially hard to fit in workouts these days. It's hard not to beat myself up for days when I just didn't find the time to fit it in. I have to keep reminding myself, I'm doing the best I can with everything that is going on around me. I have to keep remembering that I AM making progress, no matter how slow. Thank you for being a part of my page. :)

Hi Katy! We chose to go with Indiana Connections Academy, so it's still public school, but it's online, from home. It works best for us. What program(s) do you use, or of your own making? Congratulations on the great weight loss, what awesome progress!! Keep up the great work; it's nice to "meet" you!

And congratulations on the upcoming new addition.. how exciting!! I can hardly believe how quickly my little one has grown. He was just born in February.. wasn't that just last week?!?! Hehe!

I am in need of help and especially motivation to start on a program to better health. I find it difficult to walk with two bad knees. I find I need a great deal of encouragement........Live in a place where I am rather unknown except to a couple seniors.

Mary Lou, do you have someplace you can go to swim? Swimming, water aerobics, that kind of thing, the BEST for being easy on the knees. Maybe you can get out and meet a walking buddy or two? Just drop me a line anytime, I'm always here to offer encouragement!!

Chandra, the pool at the Senior Center is hard to get into. by that I mean folks have been using it before we arrived in town and they find ways of signing up first. AND actually I am afraid I am not a swimmer. Not to be totally put off by it. You TRY for the encouragement level all the time and I seem to find fault with it all. I am sorry but This area (Rocky mount) and the living area (Seniors) isn't the best. I just try. I try by watching what I eat. Sometimes I am on a SEE FOOD diet but at other times I can push away. The sun makes a BIG difference in what I get accomplished in my day. BUT I THANK YOU for giving me bits of advice. I do admire you and wish we had the closeness and time together. You are Helpful my friend.

Sonya, I love to camp and hike too. Didn't get to do much of either this past summer, as we have an infant. However, we're looking forward to next summer!

I am about 20 lbs over weight. Big change from my 30's when the doctor was worried because I was so under weight lol Need to do something to get it under control.

MFP IS the answer. I've been on there over a year, and I love it, but I keep ignoring what it tells me.. I had a quarter of a cherry pie for lunch. -sighs-

I just found your blog and website and enjoy it. I've had alot of motivation - it's gotten me through three heart procedures and a total knee replacement. Started running a few months ago and am hooked, ran the Color Run and now signed up for the Glow Run. A pedometer would help me on my journey!
