“You’re never going to get to any final place. And so, we want to remind you to relax and start having fun on the way.” ~ Abraham-Hicks™ Goals are great things. They give us direction, they drive us to change our habits, to grow, to learn. However, when we begin taking things TOO seriously, we begin worrying, we stress ourselves out with SO much to do, and not liking some of the things we feel we *have* to do, it sucks all the fun out of life, doesn't it? It certainly did for me! I think it's important to remember that even when we achieve one goal, there will always be another goal to set our sights on, there will always be another want, another need, another desire, another dilemma. Thing is, there is never any final place, ever. Life itself is a journey into creativity. There will always be things to do, to see, to create, people to love, relationships to navigate, wants, desires, needs… you get the idea. So, why should it all have to be so serious so much of the time? Slow down. Take a deep breath. And even if you don't particularly enjoy what you're doing at present, find some way to make it fun. It can be done! Relax.

“Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.” ~ Jim Rohn Self-discipline is one of the MOST important bridges between what you want to achieve [your goals] and actually achieving them [accomplishments]. How is self-discipline achieved? For me, it has been a matter of selecting and implementing new, more productive habits [slowly] one-by-one, to replace those old, worn out ones. It’s best to take things slowly, changing one habit at a time, rather than trying to change many things at once. Getting yourself used to one new habit before introducing a new one helps to slowly ease you into change and helps you accomplish more, because you’re less likely to feel overwhelmed by so many changes all at once. Plus, it has been said that it takes 21 days to form a new habit. I set myself attainable, achievable goals, I stick with them as best I can, and the results often speak for themselves. Sticking with something takes discipline and lots of it, especially at the beginning when it’s new and a little scary. If you slip, get back up and begin again. Don’t give up just because it seems hard in the moment. Or just because you slip up once or twice. Be headstrong in your determination. For no one else but YOU can make that decision to change your life for the better. However, do let me know if I can help you in ANY way to stick to your goals. Yes, only YOU can make the decision to get started, but it often helps to have someone to whom you can hold yourself accountable, especially at the outset of a new goal. Someone who can help you stay determined, stay on track, or help you pick yourself up and carry on through an obstacle or roadblock. You don’t have to do this alone. Feel free to contact me anytime. Have a determined day! ~ Chandra Sullivan |
