My First Video *GASP!* - Marathon Training Week 8

So, I thought I'd take a little of my own advice (again) and do something today (Thursday) that scares me.

It's been something I've been thinking about doing off and on for some time now, but every time I've attempted it, I've chickened out.  It's funny how something as 'simple' as recording a short, two minute video of myself can be such a frightening endeavor.  Oh, and then sharing it with the general public... YIKES!!! Panic!!

Seeing as I've been such a HUGE introvert my entire life, was labeled over and over and over again as 'shy' growing up, well ... some of you know how hard it is to break these molds, I'm sure... I've simply found it MUCH easier to express myself through the written word.
And so, for this week's marathon training update, I present to you a video summing up Week 8.  Please don't judge too harshly. ;)  Do, however, let me know if you'd prefer to see more video updates in the future, or whether I ought to stick with the written word, hehehe :D
I challenge YOU to do one thing that scares you today....... Comment below with that one thing and together, let's tell fear to TAKE A HIKE!!! :D

The REAL Reason I Like Running - Marathon Training Weeks 6 & 7

The photo tells all.  One of the biggest reasons I love running: because I really, very much like food. Good food, junk food, and chocolate food in particular.......

I don't exercise to win any sort of bikini or body competition.  That doesn't interest me.  I like food too much for that to be my goal, haha!

I eat mostly healthy, but there are still plenty of "bad" foods that I enjoy too much to give up completely or try to replace with a healthier version.  No, I don't (often) go to excess with these not-so-healthy choices, but I don't exclude them altogether.  Personal preference, nothing more.

As for the past two weeks of marathon training, here's a quick recap, from what I can remember off the top of my head because I really didn't write anything down, and NO I didn't stick to it 100%, partially due to the holiday weekend last week.... hence the double-up this week because I took a week off from #FitnessFriday.

Week 6:

I won't break this one down day-by-day, but I will say that I shuffled things around all week due to the shorter work-week and preparing our getaway to the lake for the holiday weekend.  The only workout I missed altogether was... well, none other than the 8 mile run scheduled for Independence Day.  Ahh well.  I'm committing to doing my best to NOT skip another Friday long run during the remainder of this training plan.

Found during Wednesday's cool-down walk!

Week 7:

SUNDAY: Rest Day!
MONDAY: 6 miles turned into 3 miles on the 'mill due to rain and a late start.
TUESDAY: 40 minutes cross-training turned into, ahem, quality time with hubby.

WEDNESDAY: A 4 mile pace run, successfully completed!
THURSDAY: Rest Day!
FRIDAY (today!): An early 12 miler, fueled by E&E Pre-Workout Formula.
SATURDAY: Cross-training in the form of helping my parents move!

Ack!!!  How the heck did it get so near the beginning of Week 8 already?!

Nearly one-third of the way there... WHOA!!!  Is it just me, or is this year is just zooooooming by soooo fast?!?!

Are you currently working through a training plan or workout program?  If so, which one??
If not, may I assist you in choosing the best one for you?
